It looks like India is going in the same lines as China putting Censorship on certain blogging sites.

I was not able to browse any of the sites hosted on blogspot for the last 2 days. I came to know the reason after seeing a post on Trivikram’s Blog about sites being blocked in india(http://avee-ivee.blogspot.com/2006/07/we-protest.html) giving the reason that some of the terrorist related activists are blogging on those sites.

It will be a good move to block those particular sites rather than blocking the entire domain which hosts lots and lots of constructive information blogs.

As stated in Trivikram’s blog our ISPs are blocking the entire domain.

Access to all blogs and websites hosted on the following servers is currently blocked:
xxx.blogspot.com/
xxx.typepad.com/
xxx.blogs.com/
www.geocities.com/xxx

Spectranet, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Reliance Powersurfer, Airtel Broadband and Sify have blocked Blogger.

Let us hope they will remove this restriction as soon as possible.

I am a big fan of SysInternals freeware utilities and a regular visitor to Mark’s Blog. Today I have seen a post in Mark’s blog saying he is joining Microsoft

Some of the points from his post:

I’m very pleased to announce that Microsoft has acquired Winternals Software and Sysinternals. Bryce Cogswell and I founded both Winternals and Sysinternals (originally NTInternals) back in 1996 with the goal of developing advanced technologies for Windows.

What will happen to all those freeware? Here is his answer:

As for Sysinternals, the site will remain for the time being while Microsoft determines the best way to integrate it into its own community efforts, and the tools will continue to be free to download.

Looks like no more new freeware from SysInternals(Not a good news for me ). However Mark is saying that the existing tools will remain free.
